Dobermann longevity

The average age for a dobermann in the UK is just over 9 years. So, I am really proud of my dobes from Int. Lux Ch Aritaur Histabraq and Cosajoro Nina Simone at Grafmax. We did this mating three times. The first litter, which included Bel, Neth Ch Grafmax Louis Armstrong ShCM RL3Ex (Satchmo), all lived to at least 11, with one making almost 13. The second litter, a singleton, died of bloat at almost 10. The third litter, which included Grafmax Ninette de Valois (Kiki), mostly lived to between 10 and 11, apart from two that died younger of cancer. Both were neutered early, which increases the risk of some cancers. Satchmo was Best of Breed at Crufts in 2013 and got to the last 7 in the group (out of over 2000 working dogs) and was also the first UK dobermann to achieve Level 3 at Rally obedience. Kiki was the mother of Ch Grafmax Roberto Alagna (Ringo, 5 CC, 2 RCC), who gained his title at 19 months and is a 'stallion' of a dog. Ringo was sired by Ch Chancepixies Locomotive, who lived to almost 12.
