Satchmo

Satchmo (Grafmax Louis Armstrong) is from the first litter bred by me. His sire is Jay and Martin Horgan's Lux Ch Aritaur Histabraq SchH3, litter brother of Ch/Ir Ch Aritaur Hipnotique, who is the UK Dobermann bitch all-time breed record holder. His mother is Nina (Cosajoro Nina Simone at Grafmax).

He obtained his Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Certificate at 12 weeks of age, and now has his KC Bronze, Silver and Gold. He's very well-behaved and a well-developed boy with an immaculate temperament. He started his show career in November 2009, with a Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed at Cheltenham and District Open Show at 6 months and 1 day. He has had many wins and places, and has really come into his own in 2011. He had a 2nd and a 3rd at Crufts. He had 1st in Yearling and GC at WELKS, 3rd in Yearling at Birmingham National and 1st in Graduate at Southern Counties. He won BOB and G4 at Ashfield Open and the following week BOB at Southampton.

Nigel Morgan's critique for Darlington reads "Thorn's Grafmax Louis Armstrong, black, in excellent condition, elegant balanced head with correct planes and depth of muzzle, square profile and well set, lean neck carried with much nobility, correct fore and hind angulation, good depth of chest and deep sprung ribs, correct slope to topline, powerful, well muscled hindquarters, movement free and balanced with plenty of reach and drive, handled to show his full potential, BOB".
